Gender based violence and femicides around the world

Every day, 137 women across the world are murdered by a partner or a family member. Enough is enough!

A femicide is defined as the murder of a woman on the basis of her gender, meaning that being a woman is a determining factor in the crime. That makes femicides into one of the ultimate expressions of discrimination against women in our society.

This seminar will focus on the lethal gender based violence against women and girls. We look closely at the current situation in Sweden, Mexico and South Africa together with experts from each country. We share experiences and knowledge and discuss what is necessary in terms of advocacy and activism for change to come about.
