Dictatorship vs LGBT Rights: Threats and Tendencies in Russia and Belarus

CIVIL RIGHTS DEFENDERS welcomes you to our seminar at Pride House 2016: "Dictatorship vs LGBT Rights: Threats and Tendencies in Russia and Belarus".

Harassment, threats, and violence against LGBT people and activists are common in both Russia and Belarus, where LGBT people face discrimination at all levels of society. The environment for LGBT activists working on the ground is repressive, and the attempts to strenghten LGBT rights often include obstacles.

What is the situation really like for LGBT people in Russia and Belarus today? Meet LGBT activists from the respective countries discussing today's challenges of discrimination and threats.

The seminar will be in English.

The seminar is free of charge (no Pride Ticket needed).

The seminar is organised in cooperation with Stockholm Pride at Pride House (Kulturhuset). ....................................................................................................... Participants:
